Rules & Regulation

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE SCHOOL

Parents and students are expected to read and familiarize themselves with the rules and procedures of the school and extend wholesome cooperation.

GENERAL

Every pupil must posses a school Diary which must be brought to School daily, failing which will be considered an act of disobedience.

  1. It is compulsory for every pupil to come to school in complete and proper school uniform.
    • In case of any irregularity, parents will be called to meet the Principal.
    • Students must be in school uniform whenever they enter the school premises (special classes, cultural academy classes,anniversary rehearsals, competitions, Open day etc.)
    • ID Cards with student's photograph are to be worn by the students on every working day of the school and on all special occasions that they attend in the school.
    • Buttons and zips should be properly maintained and the use of safety pins in their place is discouraged altogether as safety measure.
    • Deep necklines in the dresses for girls are prohibited; comfort & decency must be maintained.
    • Black shoes should be regularly cleaned and polished.
    • Pupils are expected to be clean and tidy in their dress, and appearance, neatly ironed (pressed) uniform must be worn every day.
    • Nails should be trimmed regularly and painting the nails is not allowed.
    • Students are expected to conduct themselves as representatives of Shri Ram School in the public bringing laurels to the school through their conduct and behavior.
    • Maintenance and safety of the personal belongings and school belongings are the duty and responsibility of every student.
    • Students are not allowed to wear valuables in the interest of their safety.
    • Students are strictly prohibited from bringing transistors, cellphones or cameras to the class. Bringing any other expensive Items (e.g. CDs, I-pods, pen drive, MP3 Player- etc.) or any sort of comics, games, cards, or objectionable literature to the school may lead to severe consequences from the school.
  2. Pupils are expected to take part in all the co-curricular activities of the school as part of their curriculum. Absenting himself & herself from any competition or talent test will result in the loss of an opportunity in the assessment program.​
  3. Every pupil must take part in school games and other activities unless declared physically unfit by the doctor and exempted by the Principal.
  4. No pupil suffering from a contagious or infectious disease shall be allowed to attend school. Medical Certificate and Fitness Certificate must be produced at the time of resuming.
  5. Cash collections by pupils for any purpose, whatsoever, require the prior sanction of the school authorities.
  6. Only English must be spoken in the school premises to acquire fluency in the language. Parents are requested to encourage their children to speak in English at home too.
  7. Any communication (request or complaint) made by the Parents need to be addressed to the Principal.
  8. Parents and Guardians are requested not to meet the children and the teachers to see the children or meet the teachers during class hours without prior permission from the Principal.
  9. Parents need to obtain prior permission from the school authorities to shoot photographs & video pictures of any school activity.
  10. Parents are expected to co-operate in the functioning of the school by enforcing Regularity, Punctuality and Discipline and by taking interest in their children's progress.
  11. Parents need to check the Diary daily and take note of the Homework given and see that it is completed much before the stipulated time.
  12. The school officials send periodic reports to the parents. These reports need to be countersigned by the parents and returned in time. This will enhance the functioning of the school in the process of assessment and evaluation.
  13. Parents are requested to collect the progress reports of their children positively on the very same dates given in the circular sent to them.
  14. Any student failing to submit the assigned work in time, will not be allowed to perform the next activity till the completion and submission of the work in time.
  15. Hence it is imperative that the student is regular in timely completion and submission of the assigned work.
  16. Students should take their Practical Examinations only on the days specified.
  17. A Record of the address and telephone number of the Parents &Guardians is maintained in the school office. Any change of address & telephone number, Email ID should be communicated without delay.
  18. Students are expected to refrain from irregular attendance, absence without prior leave application, insubordination to teachers or any kind of serious misconduct or any habit or behavior objectionable to the good tone the school in order to avoid any severe consequences or actions from the school officials.
  19. Request for bonafide certificates must reach the school office well in advance. Last minute requests will not be entertained.
  20. If any circular is issued with a an acknowledgement slip, it should be returned duly signed by the parent & guardian to the class teachers the next day.
  21. Parents will have to collect the reports in person from the Class Teacher.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

  1. No pupil should stay away from school except for special reasons. A written application in the prescribed forms, available in the Diary, need to be submitted well in advance. Sick leave will be granted only on production of a Medical Certificate.
  2. The leave application form should be submitted well in advance for prior sanction, or positively on the day of absence through a messenger. Absence without prior sanction, (unless it is an emergency, accident or sudden illness in which case a Medical Certificate & Fitness Certificate should be produced) will be attached along with the application.
  3. If any leave on account of sickness is applied for more than 2 days, a Medical Certificate and a Fitness Certificate must be attached along with the application.
  4. Permission to go home after a test or otherwise during school hours will be granted only for valid reasons with a personal note as an advance intimation from the parents. On such occasions, the parents must fetch the children personally from the school.
  5. Any leave letter must be addressed only to the Principal or Class Teacher.
  6. Parents are advised to bring to the notice of the Principal any major ailment that their ward suffers from, right at the beginning of the academic year in order to facilitate effective and immediate action in case of emergency.
  7. Whenever a child is sick, parents are requested not to send the child to school. In case the child falls sick in the school, parents or an authorized person by the parents need to collect the child from the school.

NOTE TO PARENTS

  1. Parents are requested to study the school diary carefully and go through it every day noting the homework set as also any other observations made by the teachers about their children. This parental interest in their children's progress will be very useful and effective.
  2. Parents are requested to spend quality time with their wards, to encourage participation in curricular and co-curricular activities of the school and submit reports on time.
  3. Parents are welcome for an interaction with the school officials on all Open Days. On other occasions, parents with any genuine concern can meet the school officials with prior appointment on any working day.
  4. Assessment of the children will be shared with the parents on the Open days followed by the evaluation schedule planned in an academic year. Parents are expected to interact with all the subject teachers to understand the progress of the children during these days.
  5. Parents will appreciate the stand that the children themselves are responsible for their personal belongings they may bring to school. While every effort is made by the school to reduce the incidence of loss of such articles, the ultimate responsibility rests with the children themselves.
  6. School expects the support of parents to help the children in maintaining the text books, note books, school records, projects, assignments and worksheets. This includes filing, covering, labeling, binding the books and changing them at the time of any wear and tear.
  7. Parents are expected to be vigilant in monitoring the development of the children which includes acknowledging the intimations by any school authorities in their school diary. Hence kindly go through the school diary every day.

NOTE TO PUPILS

  1. Read the school diary carefully and bring it to school everyday. Make a note of anything that is important to you in it.
  2. This is your school. Keep it clean and tidy so that you and others may be proud of it.
  3. You look smarter in school uniform. Report in school uniform everyday and in all occasions whenever you are expected in school.
  4. Aim at full attendance and unfailing punctuality so that you get the best out of the school.
  5. Work hard and do your best in your studies. You represent your family, school and the society and owe a lot to them. Hence carry yourself in all the places and all the time to bring laurels to all of them.
  6. Take pride in your class work and give priority to creativity.
  7. Do not leave the class room or the school compound without permission.
  8. Students are expected to develop social skills
  9. At the stroke of the first bell, assemble for prayer. Ensure that fans & lights are switched off before you leave the class.
  10. Scribbling on the walls and desks, throwing paper or spraying ink inside the classrooms, or damaging school property in anyway is forbidden.
  11. Damages caused must be paid for as per the decision of the school authorities.
  12. Tampering with materials in all the labs or any other place in school premises will lead to paying a heavy one.
